Discovered purely by accident, Innis & Gunn's beer has a very distinctive depth of flavour due to the beer being originally used for seasoning a Whisky distillers oak casks.
Once this process was completed, the beer was removed from the casks. Rather than waste the beer, the distillery tried the beer and Innis & Gunn's distinctive flavour was born.
