Great to see our importers getting our beers out to the general public in China. This time at the annual Dragon boat Festival, also known as Duanwu or Tuen Ng Festival.
The dragon boat festival is celebrated each year in honour of Qu Yuan, who was a poet who threw himself into the Miluo River to protest political corruption. Local villages rushed out in boats to save him, beating their drums and splashing water to scare fish and evil spirits away from him. People then threw sticky rice in the water to distract the fish so they would eat the rice, instead of him.
