Greene King IPA is characterised by its hoppy taste and aroma that comes from the use of challenger and first gold hops, which are combined with pale and crystal malts. IPA stands for India Pale Ale and the IPA style was created in the days of the British Empire to bring a taste of home to troops stationed in India. Nowadays, Greene King IPA is enjoyed in over 30 countries worldwide.
Greene King IPA is a perfectly-balanced ale, characterised by its fresh, hoppy taste and clean, bitter finish. This hoppy taste and aroma come from two varieties of English hops – Challenger and First Gold – which are combined with pale and crystal malts. A great beer to enjoy with curry, Mexican and other spicy food, or simply on its own.
Innis and Gunn’s re-branded flagship beer, the one that started it all with their unique bourbon barrel ageing process brings flavours like vanilla and toffee and they’ve combined this with the malty character of our Scotch Ale to create an incredible taste experience. Innis and Gunn brew The Original using their unique barrel into beer method, turning the traditional beer into barrel process on its head without losing any of the wonderful flavours and aromas from the barrel.
- Aroma: Caramel and rich roasted malts
- Taste: Incredibly smooth with a delicious toffee character and a light hop fruitiness
- Finish: Creamy and warming

Here at Thatchers, we move with the times – but our history comes with us. All our craft can be found in Vintage, featuring the previous season’s pick of the crop, such as Dabinett, Prince William, Somerset Redstreak and Gala varieties. Great with friends and traditional foods like Sunday lunch. Or a companion while musing on the meaning of life.
To celebrate two decades of creating truly original beers and to toast how far we’ve come, we’ve brewed something special.
For this special birthday edition of The Original, we travelled back in time, back to 2003. The year we started brewing. Way back then, a Speyside distillery filled a series of casks with their famed spirit. For two decades, those casks were seasoned with incredible flavour by the single-malt-whisky they contained.
Those casks continued their journey earlier this year being filled with our flagship Original.
After three months in casks this beer has taken on bold flavours which complement the signature Original notes. A unique Single Malt Whisky Cask matured Original 20 years in the making. That’s definitely something worth celebrating.
You’ve got to be quick if you want to catch Katy. The harvest of these juicy red apples has a very short window. But we’re always there on time, so you can enjoy this very special, single variety, premium cider. Best shared with friends as a treat. Or savoured with a good book.
The only cloudiness we like is in our Haze cider. A thirst-quenching combination of Discovery, Falstaff, Gala and Jonagold apples are crafted into this crisp, sweet cider.
Great for relaxed occasions, the simple pleasure of being with your mates and having the warmth of the sun on your face.
When our family name is on the bottle it makes a promise, that what you’re about to drink has been cared for and crafted to the highest standard. Like Thatchers Zero – a unique twist on a classic apple cider. Great for laid back, sociable occasions, when you want something alcohol-free but don’t want to compromise on taste.
